Anyone know the specs for Nr. 1 thru Nr. 3 trammel points? I have a set that are supposed to be Nr. 2, but they look like some advertised on e-bay as NR.1 and Nr. 3. I suspect the difference is size, but neither listed their actual length. Also, is the engraving on the sides common to all three sets or are they different? I've tried a web search, but can't find a type study addressing trammel points.

Thanks

Dennis: I am far from an expert but the Antique & Collectable Stanley Tools written by John Walter depicts size #1 points to be 3 1/2" long, #2 to be 4 1/2" long, and #3 to be 5 1/2". It does show nor indicate any engraving on the sides, unless you are talking about the designs cast in the sides of the brass. Best I can do, David

Thanks Dave,

that's what I'm looking for. The design I'm talking about looks like a cross hatch. I've seen others with some type of leaf looking design, but I don't know if the are stanley.
