Found wood for the day(with results)

While working today I pulled a piece of wood out of a pile that was headed for the dump. The reason I picked it out was because it was already sliced to a 4" thickness without the pith. I did not know what was inside but a guy that was with me said "Why would you want that old rotten wood for"? (It did look pretty weathered) I said"Wait and see". These are the pics I'm going to show him tomorrow and I'm going to take the roughed out bowl with me. It is a very nice piece of Ambrosia Maple and is solid.

Looks good Donny. Amazing what you can turn a dirty old piece of wood into! If he is impressed tomorrow, just wait till he sees it with some finish on it!
