DNA and NE

Has anyone tried the Denatured Alcohol soak method on natural edge bowls? Does it cause the bark to loosen from the wood?
I'm experimenting with the DNA soak method on some roughed out Mesquite NE bowls. I know Mesquite isn't the best wood to use for this exercise because it's so stable but it's all I have.

I have soaked one or two and didnt have any problems (other than what I started with)

I've done at least a couple dozen of NE bowls and did the DNA soak. Never had a bark problem. If it's on it's on.

I agree with the others. Haven't had a problem that wasn't there before I put it in the DNA.
