What is the bed angle of this block plane? And what are the dimensions?

I was looking for something I can hold in one hand but which has a high-ish (45 degree angle). I have a 60 1/2 and a LN adj mouth block, but they both tend to tear out planing across the grain on maple (string bass bridges). I have a Record#3 which is the right angle, but is a little too big to use one-handed. I have never held a #2 or a #1, so I don't have a basis for comparison. They are also really expensive.

Any suggestions?

You could just buy a 2nd blade for you LN block plane and sharpen a steeper micro bevel on it.

My suggestion is to build your own. I bought a $10 replacement blade for a Hong Kong smoother. Then I made a body for it with a 50 degree pitch. It even has an adjustable mouth like Steve Knight's planes.
