Created for the AAW "Bleach" Contest. Thought I'd share it here too.

6 x 3 Bleached Walnut Wave Bowl

The exterior is bleached and the interior and "wave" left natural to give the feeling that the "wave" is projecting through the outside of the bowl. A light veneer is added to mimic the "wave" pattern on the interior.

John, I am always excited to see your latest project. Your wave bowls are really nice and this one is fantastic. I can't believe you got walnut to bleach that light. Thanks for posting this.

That is really cool. Another of those "how'd he do that" pieces. :)

John,

Love your wave bowls. This one is really terrific. The bleaching of the walnut worked out very well. Another nice one.

John, very nice work! The bleaching on the walnut is amazing, and I like the contrast with the inside. Application of the veneer really helps the illusion.

John - very interesting design! Love the contrast and the sense of movement the wave gives the bowl. For me - the real kicker is the veneer on the inside! Just one of those unexpected things that grab your attention! Very nice work! Good luck in the contest!

John, this is stunning, leaves me thinking "How on earth????" The bleaching worked so well on the walnut, the contrast between wave and wall is great.

Thanks for all the kind comments.
For those who are wondering about bleaching the Walnut. I did it 3 times until I was satisfied with the color.

Not sure how I missed this one, but I'm glad I finally found it. The exterior is beautiful, but it's the inside of the form that's got me captivated... I'll be scratching my head for a while trying to figure that trick out.
