Very nice work Gene, you seem to do most of your work in pine is that correct?

This machine is ours, bought used from the 'bot forum June 09. We cut lots of solid woods, most of the photos I post with carvings from pine are test samples
for clients. My favorite woods to use are makore, cachimbo, marupa, requira, primavera and camaru, all of these carve very well with very little sanding needed and
finish beautifully.

Nice work Gene.

In eastern Virginia most pine species are very hard on carbide bits and blades. It will dull a set of planer blades quickly and the resin is nasty. I generally try my best to keep pine out of my workshop in favor of local hardwoods that are much easier on my cutting tools.

I am amazed how long router bits last in my CNC router as long as i don't use pine.
