I did a while back. Measures 4-1/2" Diameter x 2-1/4" Deep with 1/8" Wall Thickness throughout.
I keep making the walls thinner and thinner.
Sanded to 400x, burnished with turned wood shavings and buffed with Ultrafine Steel Wool.
Finished with 6 coats of MINWAX Satin Wipe-On-Poly and polished with Hut Ultra Gloss.

Very nice bowl, Les. That finish really pops that nice grain.

That is a great looking bowl Les, the form is very nice, and that wood has a great grain pattern, good job.

Beautiful finish Les. Like the donut chuck...do you have serveral tops or just "one size fits all" most of the time?

Les, the bowl looks great. It never hurts to have a peice of wood that shows so well either. I am interested in that jam chuck as well, do you have a plan? I have one but I wasn't overly excited about how it worked so I think it has found it's way to the bottom of the sawdust pile.

Les, very nice work on this one! Very subtle ogee on the outside profile, thin walls, and a nice foot. As noted, great wood doesn't hurt.

Les I think this is the first bowl I have seen that you turned. As usual it is top quality, but then I didn't expect anything less. Great bowl, great finish. :D

Besides the nice bowl, I happen to notice an impeccably clean shop, and a donut chuck that looks pristine! I don't think my shop has ever been that clean!!!!
Thanks for sharing that bowl, I really like the shape of it, it just 'feels' right.

Nice Bowl Les. I love Box Elder. I think it's a great wood for turning. You did a great job on the form and small foot. On the Doughnut chuck: What is the padding that you are using?
And nice Roll Around Tool chest in the background. Very Nice!

Thanks Brian,
The padding I use is shelf liner material.
