Twist Ballpoint dressed up in a piece of Curly Bubinga.
Glued in Cap tube and turned between centers.
Machined off the Threaded Coupler and put together the Nib Assembly.
Twisting the nib clock-wise retracts the refill tip.
Unscrew the nib counter clock-wise to access the refill.
Sanded barrel to 400x, burnished with the turned wood shavings, buffed with Ultrafine Steel Wool and applied 6 coats of MINWAX Fast Drying Clear Gloss Polyurethane.

No polishing or buffing required using the MINWAX Poly.

Very nice, Les. If you ever have the chance, I'd love to see a photo tutorial on your process.
Do you sand or buff with steel wool between coats?
And, it's good to see you here at SMC. :)

Les, your finishing them fast and furious now. This one looks nice, I love the curly bubinga and the finish is perfect as always. I have never finished a pen in WOP but I might have to give it a try.

Very nice. Where do you get kits? All the Jr. Gent Longwood pens I found in a search have two barrels or a rubber gripper and a longish barrel. Thanks.

Thanks Brian.
I have a tutorial on how I make my Longwood pens, as well as quite a few other tutorials.
I don't see a Tutorials Board on the forum?

Beautiful pen Les! Love the wood and your finish really brings it to life!

As far tutorials - we used to just post them here and then, depending on number of responses, they would get copied to the Articles and Reviews Forum so folks could access them easily. Now that we have changed over to the new software - you can join the Author's group, compose your tutorial and then have it published on the Home page. It will get a lot of exposure and folks will be able to access it for reference when needed. If you have any questions about getting published here - please let me know.
