I've been meaning to take some shots of these trees to share with you all for some time now. Today, on a walk with my dogs, I finally did.

I call this one smootching trees...:p

And this one racks my brain... I call it my Flintstone tree. Remember the logs on Fred's car? It had a split on both ends for the axel. I always though it was impossible...hmmmm, maybe not. And, yes, this tree splits back apart way higher up. So this would have been a stretch limo version for Fred. :D

Way cool!

We had a pine tree intertwined with a live oak at our old house in florida ....it was pretty much the selling point for me! Dont know if I can find a digital pic though

Anastomosis is actually fairly common in tropical woods but I have not seen it before in temperate zones. I would also avoid the water.

Those are some pretty interesting oddities you have there, especially that last one.

It shows you how well trees can deal t=with stresses from the environment.
