I've had this pointy ended vessel hanging around for a bit waiting for some kind of lid and a finish.I ended up doing something a bit different with it. The lids coloured with acrylics and the finish is satin lacquer. Its 8 1/2" long by 5 1/2" wide.

Thanks Johnny.

Very interesting and imaginative! Very contemporary and reminds me of an acorn! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That is cool Jonny. Makes me think about a tree with several growing on it.
Like the colors

Steve,Jerry thanks for the positive comments. I went through phases of liking it, then not and then liking it again, as I was making it.

That's a great top Johnny! Would you have a straight ahead picture looking down from the top? I really like the size. I'm trying to move to larger forms and that is a great motivator!

Another very cool looking piece from you Johnny, I like this as much as the seed pod style you posted earlier.

Thank you for your comments, I'm really pleased you liked it :).
Jim I will try to take a pic of it 'head on' for you tomorrow(its nearly midnight this side of the pond). Forms of this size are not really any more tricky than smaller ones are, I feel more comfortable doing them this sort of size than say 4" tall ones and nobody can get their finger all the way to the bottom to feel it either!! ;)

I like it, very creative. The spider web on top adds a whole new dimension.

I've refrained from posting on this, because I can't find the words. But "wow", "fantastic", and "incredible" come close. I really like the contrast of color and style. That's creativity and ART!!! I hope I can get there someday.

Very cool! I like the web lid and the main form as well... Together, it's really nice. Kudos.
