Jerry, really a very nice piece! Great color contrast, and the texturing adds some nice surface contrast with the low sheen of the pot. Nice work!

Nice. The contrasting lid works very well with the pot.

Nice pot of gold. Are the feet and kettle one piece? Good St. Paddy day piece.

Thanks Guys
Yes the feet and pot are one piece, carved after turning.
Usually I only use three feet but I used four trying to simulate a large kettle.
I am thinking about sparying the pot with satin laquer to get an orange peal effect to further obtain a cast pot look.
I almost always get an orange peal effect from rattle can laquer(need to practice) or get a proper sprayer.

Hey - that's pretty cool! Really captured the form of an old pot! Your idea of adding an orange peel effect to the black sounds like it could add some realistic texture to the piece. Looking forward to seeing the result if you spray it!

Jerry,
Nice form and design. How about using a spray can of Black "typewriter" finish. Lowes has such an item along with several other textured finishes.

Will you make the MPG this year?

Nice form, I like the feet and the shape the texturing and contrasting lid are interesting. Good stuff.

What a beautiful piece Jerry, really like the black and yellow and the lids texture looks like the technique I just seen in a video I seen the other day, very well done.
