I was well on my way to my second inside out turning - cherry and walnut.

When disaster struck...

Partly a poor design and planning.

Oh well, back to the shop tomorrow to start over! :D

So I made a pen for our new sister in law!

Black & White Acrylic. Sanded to 15000 then polished with Turtle Wax Cut Polish.

We are all going to have issues like that once in a while, I threw a piece in the trash 2 weeks ago I was almost done with, it start cracking everywhere and as much CA as I used I couldnt salvage it. But we learn from things like this as we go on. That is a great looking pen for your SIL!

Very nice pen! Your SIL will love it!

Sorry to see the wood failed on your turning! As long as you didn't get hurt and learned something at the same time - it was something you can build on! Stick with it! Inside-out turnings can be pretty cool when finished and really get folks wondering how you turned it! Have fun!

Pen looks nice. Good to save the turning time with some success. I am sure the new member of your family will treasure it. I have read several articles on inside out turning, have yet to try it, or segmented for that matter. Love to see the work and appreciate the effort that goes into it. Hope you try some more!
