Opinions please.......

Which do you think is the better tenon jig, Steel City or Delta

Links to them:

Delta

Steel City

Or is some other one a better buy?

Thanks for the input

I know that FW did a review a few years ago on most models. I do know they rated one of the two Deltas at that time as their best choice.

I can not comment on the Steel City.

I have the Delta and I am well pleased with it........

I like this one:

I built one for the price of the toggle clamp and a few screws.

I have the Delta Tenon jig and I like it. I did have to return the first one I received because the bottom casting wasn't flat and the guide bar for the crosscut slot was out of square. The Delta jig has a balanced crank style handle. It will be easier and faster to adjust than the round knob type.

P.S your link to the delta jig does not work. This is the one I have. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Lp795FIpL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Which model is the Delta you have. It is different than the one Highland Woodworking is showing.

Thanks

I do not know the SC one, but I have that Delta and I like it. I don't use it as much as I had planned, but when I do it works well. Fit and finish are good - fit is really good, but finish is 'so so' because I don't like the paint on it.

Some would say to buy one the same way that some people buy cars. Research the different vendors, compare vital stats, fit and finish, compare reviews and recommendations of friends and experts, and at the end you just buy the most inexpensive one. :)

+1 on the Delta. Model 34-182

It's a heavy suckah.

You can also pick up the Grizzly for $70. I have one. It works beautifully.
