I thought I would share this with you. One of the super turners in my VA club has his face plates specially made with the screw holes slanted inward. He maintains that this grips the larger pieces which he makes better and more resistant to tearing out. I have tried to get in touch with Willilam B Noble who offers very reasonably priced faceplates, but so far he hasn't replied to my multiple emails. Anyone out there know if he is still making faceplates? Any other source for reasonably priced ones which can have the screw holes slanted?

Thanks,

Hilel

Not really sure, but if you have access to a drill press I wouldn't see why you couldn't layout an drill your own, and then just countersink each hole.
