Well all of you that don't think I turn in my shop this should show I do,Maybe just a little.
I'm still having trouble with my shoulder but I at least did final turning and sanding along with one coat of DO on this and turned the finial for it.
This is one piece of spalded Maple that is wormed also the inside is worse then the out.But I think it's coming along.
The finial is from the wood its leaning on in the one pic.If you know what it is please let me know, for now it's FOF WOOD (found on floor) I have a bunch of exotic woods that the tags can off of so I'm guessing at some of them.

My mistake and now everything gets marked with a marker.

PS: the Thompson tool pic.I added 2 more 5/8 V Bowl and 16" Handle plus 16" 1/2" Handle for 1/2" V Bowl I had.

Looks good. I like to see shops that are used like that. You should see mine right now.

Harry, I tried to clean up your post and rearrange the pics for you - let me know if I messed anything up!!

Great work on the HF and the finial. I don't know much about exotics, but it looks like Bocote to me.

Sweet set of Thompsons!!!

Don't overdo this and mess up the shoulder again.

I have Bocote in the shop and would agree with John. It is a very hard wood and can have great color and darkens with age. Looks good.

Pretty wood! Thanks for the shop photos as well. As for the finial wood, I can't tell you. FWIW, bocote smells a bit like pickles when it's turned if that helps.

Thanks guys now that I've thought about it I think your all right I believe it is Bocote,I know I had some and I don't find any in that area.
John-Thank you again for fixing things,I can't figure out how to get the pictures were I want them. But I'll keep trying and if you think they need fixed Thanks in advance.
Thompsons- I've still got 3 tools and 4 handles then I'll have all of Doug's tools that I think I need ? Then I'll find a place for them to live in the shop.

That's a nice form, interesting wood. Looks like you are well stocked on tools, with quite a collection of handles. I bet your lathe doesn't hop around too much! Hope the shoulder settles down for you soon.
