The metall work of plane #10 is done.
The body is milled of solid brass.
The Plane irons are 6mm thick (A2) and cryotreated . The iron can be aligned with two screws on each side.
The irons will be surfaceground the next days. At the picture you can see the milling marks.
The mouth is adjustable. This is the difference to the LN plane.
The lever cap will be redesigned, a little bit shorter and the wooden knob is missing.

Hi Dan,
I could let manufacture a plane at the metal shop, which does the metalworking for me. you can mail me the plane you are interested in and I ask for the price.
As this is only a "hobby" for me ;) this can take some time.

Rolf

Very nicely done and well thought out. Do you purchase the adjuster or is that machined for you also?

Rolf,

Nice work.

It seems brass should be soft enough to machine with woodworking tools. Have you tried that? Also, as soft as brass is, are you worried what would happen to the plane if it were dropped?
