If you have been thinking about getting one of these, you may want to go to your clamp monger soon and check them out. I was in Lowes today and they had two that were made in China, and two made in Germany. The race to the bottom continues.

I am done with Bessey. I've bought a ton of them over the years (German made) and most of them slip, making glue-ups an exercise is frustration. I never had a problem with Jorgensens.

I am sorry to hear that Bessy has gone to China. I have four each of both sizes of the 90° clamps and love them.

I've got a boatload of K-bodys that work great but, I haven't bought any for awhile. There are adjustments to correct for slipping.

I have both Besseys and Jorgensons.....prefer the Jorgesons........glue gets in the little serrations on the Besseys and they won't grip...also the roughness of the serrations scratches the wood. My $0.02

Checked them out at my local Lowes yesterday. The parallel clamps (Revo) say something like assembled in USA from imported parts (not an exact quote, I forget the exact wording). The Tradesman clamps say Made in Germany, the other bar clamps were, I believe, made in China.

Most of my clamps are Besseys of one kind or another. All made in Germany. No problems with slippage at all.

Has anyone actually had a problem with Bessey clamps made in China?

Just curious.
