I have been using these tools without a stand for a while now! I got tired of them not being stable and decided this weekend was the time to do something about it heres what I came up with!:D
Lathe stand: I needed this bad I was using it on top of a plastic pinic table:o
I also had my bed ex. in the box it came in and had never opend it. So I made the stand big enough to use it.
Buffing stand:I was using it on top of my router table held on with clamps:o I made it High enough so I wont have to bend over to use it. I also added an old milk crate to hold my buffing supplies. Used an old cord and put a on off switch on it.
Grinder stand:I was using it on top of my tablesaw:o I made it high enough so I can grind the bowl gouges and not have to bend over to see if im getting the bevel right. and my homemade sharpening Jig is on it too!
They were all made of 1 1/2 sch 40 pipe and 3/8 x 3 angle iron

Jim all 3 look great, they are a big improvement from what I saw a couple of weeks ago. :D Those should improve the workload for each of the tools they support.

Great job Jim. ;)

Jim, the stands look better than some I have seen for sale, great job, but I have never seen such a clean floor in my shop. A lady came to my shop one day and asked me why didn't I clean up my shop, I told her I just did right after she called about 2 hours before she arrived.

Jim -

Good additions to the shop. Also as good way to keep warm this weekend.

The stands look great but I was wondering what kind of glue you used?
