I need to choose two woods that best match the actual door and the oval inlay. Im not concerned about the string inlay.
It appears to be a mahogany. Its an ethan allen piece. My thoughts are the wood is orange-ish and khaya and sapele is too red, it has the grain quality of patina honduran but not the color , I think. Customer wants a close match but not perfect unless can be. So what type of wood is orangey or has grain pattern that I can have it dyed or stain matched that the base wood is light enough to do so.
I was thinking the center to be jatoba but against mahogany you wont see as much contrast as this.
Thanks
