Random Sawstop brake question

I recently purchased a dado brake for my SS. When purchasing, I was asked whether my saw takes blue or clear brake cartridges. I was fortunate to remember that my brake cartridge looks a little blue and saved myself a return trip to the store, but was just curious if anyone could shed light on the differences between the clear and blue brake cartridges.

Different era saws have different connectors. I have purchased the wrong brake before and noticed that some models obviously have more pins in the connector. I never noticed the color difference. I can see now that my brakes are all blue. But now I'll always know which brake to buy, without having to count pins.
