I can't seem to find any 3" x 3" x ~24" walnut leg blanks anywhere. Where is the best place to order these?

Don't know but unless you're wanting something special, why not just glue some flat stock up?

Cut a walnut tree and rip 4" slabs. Air dry for 1 year for each of thickness. I have lots of dry 4" thick stock that are 12 years old.

Try: http://www.mgsawmill.com/

I bought some 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 30" leg blanks from them a couple of years ago. They are located north of Houston, TX, but shipped them to me. Good luck.

little long but these are finished lengths. so if you need say and 18", 21" it's a bit less.

like this http://www.osbornewood.com/product/1287.cfm

This wouldn't be my 1st choice or 2nd but a last option.
If your local mill can get them, woodfinder.com and make a post.
Or even fleabay. Some of the mills on here that post in the forsale section might have some too.

Osborne has top quality products. I've bought leg blanks from them in the past.

Have you thought of taking wide 8/4 stock and then cutting it in half to create a bookmatched edge? I'm working on a project now and that's how the plan designer gets wide leg stock. It's a cool trick.

There is also an article in the latest FWW about using a miter lock router bit to glue up 4 pieces that can all show quartersawn. That should provide the same function.

I bought some wide 3"+ thick pieces from A&M http://www.amwoodinc.com/pricelistlandv.aspx to make these 3 tables.
Called them up and told them I needed the lumber so I could have 12 legs.
Wood was in 3-4 pieces with no sapwood.
Showing that they have some in stock at the moment.
