I'm not familiar with the Asheville NC area and I'm trying to transcribe a handwritten page by a deceased relative. As I read the passage it says:

"Once after I was grown I visited Uncle Ben's family
in Asheville. Went to see Barry at a nearby
drugstore and had lunch with Mrs. Flowe &
Homer at their home at the foot of Beau Crother
Mountain. Later Homer caught an animal
disease anthrax; "

Is there a better guess for the mountain than "Beau Crother"?

"Beaucatcher" is excellent! Using that name, I found some references such as this:

I would guess that Scott is correct. Beaucatcher is downtown, now has a cut in it Beaucatcher Cut for I-240 ( 2 lanes each way with a big median) finished about 1984. It is probably 1 mile from the center of the city. Right next to it is the Tunnel on Tunnel road.
