I just picked up 65 board feet of mesquite for $180...about $2.75 per board foot. One four footer and the rest near 5 feet; 1" to 2 3/4" thick. A few cracks, but that is typical for mesquite.185236

I like mesquite but a person has to expect to find cracks and voids exactly in the wrong spots.

I do quite a bit of work with Mesquite. The negative spaces are great design opportunities. (chuckle)
Nice score on the wood. I buy mine in the log and saw it myself. Usually a 1 ton pickup load costs me about $100. But then, it's a lot of work to bring it to usable lumber.
