OK, I built this fancy slider for my router table a couple years ago and finally "needed" to use it. A local guy buys/ sells old/surplus equipment and I scored the 80/20 stuff and slides from him for like $20 (scrap was low at the time)- I thought I "needed" one so I built it, rather than spend the 300 bucks for the Jessem one. Works awesome !

Now fo rthe Soda bottle "cyclone" - quite accidentally while rigging dust collection on it, I was racking my brain while sluggin' on a 2 litre of cola when it hit me- after I stopped laughing (hey, it was like midnite or so) I came up w/ this silly looking thing. I thought "hey that will work, and I can see the cutter yet- sweet" As it turns out the jug acts like a mini cyclone and works way better than just slappin' a hose on the fence.

So - what's your favorite "home-made" tool ?? Extra credit for pictures

Here I was getting ready to post a pic of the carving mallet I just turned. After seeing this I think I will pass.
