Anyone engraving SS wall plates? We've done lots of these with Cermark black. Now we've got an inquiry for RED text engraved for Emergency SS plates. I'm trying not to have to rotary engrave these if at all possible.

If you have the option to use color laser transfer that might be a solution. Joe Hayes told me he's getting excellent durability by post baking his clt on stainless items--sufficient that industrial customers are reordering.

Mask, engrave through mask, paint fill, remove mask, clear coat, take payment.

Ron,

Paint fill is often not acceptable in industrial environments... and medical environments? Forget it...

What about the new stuff from colorlaserproductions? I thought they had red that would work on stainless?

Most of the emergency switch plates I've seen have been red plates with white or silver(burnt through?) text.. I don't think I have ever seen a silver plate with red text for an emergency plate

Bill,

They're on the link you posted. These are going in a Hospital thus the reason for SS as they'll be cleaned constantly with disinfectants.

Makes me wonder how they do their actual cleaning... I would hate to spray any sort of liquid at an outlet and wipe it down afterward.

The example has been mechanically engraved and color filled.

Got an email from Ferro, they've got a laser copper (Laserbits) for metal but no red yet. :-(
