Hey all, I just scored a used craftsman jointer. Looks to be a 70's model,nice heavy steel just the way I like 'em. So the CL ad read $5."I need beer money". No problem got it home and so far it is a gem except it looks like I will need to get a new motor. The motor is a little rough when hand turning the shaft and is only rated at 1750 rpm's. Question I have is I found a used Dayton 2hp 3450 rpm motor on CL and just wondering if this is going to be to much hp for this planer. The manual recommends between 1/2 and 3/4 hp 3450 rpm motor.TIA
