How many times does it take running your roughing gouge of the end of the rest and getting smacked by your tool before your realize you should'nt do that anymore:confused:. Dang that hurts, this time I got a black and blue finger nail.:(

This is a tough question... One would have to be certain it was the last time ever before getting an accurate total. Get well soon.

It only takes once to realize you shouldn't do it. But that doesn't mean you won't do it again. DAMHIKT

I am one who has to learn through repetition.

About the third time I learned. Dang those black and blue fingernails hurt.

Ahhhhh.....the case of the shrinking toolrest!!;) Ron, I am quite certain this is at the heart of the problem, and that it has nothing to do with your actions.:D At least, that has been my conclusion the times this has happened to me.

I always remember the first lesson---at least until it stops hurting and I do it again!

Lol, I take it this has happened to a few of you a couple of times. Maybe I ought to make my coffee a little stronger.:D

Probably as many times as catching a 5/8 bowl gouge at the intersection of doing a bowl in a bowl. A finger that is still sore after almost two months then two fingernails two weeks ago. So for me its two and ....I am going to think positive and not finish that.

Unfortunately Scott your probably right and its always funny when it happens to the other guy:D, at least that is what my pop taught me, he always did laugh when I did something stupid to hurt myself:eek:

I've always been lucky and caught myself before the end, thankfully.
What I'd like to know from Baxter is how you turn a bowl inside a bowl. I've seen them and think they are neat, but I've never been able to figure out how it's done.
I've searched here but never been able to find anything.

I HOPE I've learned that lesson. It was a bowl gouge and the force pulled it out of my hand and it sliced my toe. A major tools worth of ER fees even after insurance, and about two weeks off my feet.

Ouch that hurts, not only you but the pocket book.:(

My nephew always says: "It's funny until someone gets hurt . . . then it's hilarious." I hope you are healed and can appreciate the humor. And add me to the list of those who want to see Baxter's bowl within a bowl.
