Here is a couple of small bowls I made from some cutoffs my son collected while touring the PRS guitar factory. They are smalll as these were made from the portions they cut away, but man the top layer has some NICE figure. go figure. :) quilted maple glued to Mahogany. Should be interesting to note, I ran into a couple of brads when turning this. Guess I should have hit it with the detector first. Good thing bowl gouges are tougher than brads.

The one on the left is a small change dish for my son, the one on the right it not finished. I will be posting when it is complete.

Figured maple on mahoghany is Gibson's flagship Les Paul model formula. PRS are hi end but similar in many respects to Gibsons. Nice pieces outa nice scrap!

Looks like the factory tour is worth doing... If they throw out stuff like that, a little dumpster diving might be in order as well.
