Jigs for sharpening small gouges, v tools

Hi,

I want to manually re profile and sharpen some small gouges on a whetstone or emery cloth.

Does anyone make specialized jigs for small gouges and veiners that are adjustable for this purpose?

Some of my gouges are down to 1 mm or .5 mm wide.


Woodcraft has a great jig at http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2003890/9402/Oar-Sharpener.aspx but that is for larger gouges and v tools- I guess what I am looking for is something like the Oar Sharpener above, but only for very small tools down to 1 mm or even .5 mm.

Hi Sean,

You may want to try reposting your question in the Neanderthal or carving forum. You can't cut and paste it directly but can make a few changes and repost it. I'm sure the sharpening gurus there will have an answer for you.
