First Bird Houses!

I wanted to try my hand at some bird houses bigger than ornament size.
The first one is walnut with a pin oak top and I did put a perch and a bird on it before it went for a gift.
The other is stag horn sumac that I got from Jeff Nicol and a walnut top that I got from a yard in Eau Claire(it measures 2 1/4 X 8 1/4".
I hollowed then with a forstner bit and they were fun to turn.
I found some nice little feathered birds at Micheals and a red ribbon to hang it with.
I have an order for four now,better get to work.

Jeff, Once you start making these they will always be favorites of the family and friends. I just made a couple for my sister-in-law.

Very nice Jeff, I keep telling myself I'm going to make some of those but it seems like something else is always on the lathe. That will be my goal for next month - make a birdhouse or two or three :). Very nice job - I'll be happy if mine are half as nice!
