I found a couple of oak unfinished cabinets for a very good price and am going to use them for some light duty storage.

I want to put the very thin oak plywood on the side that will be visible from the room. The plywood is less than 1/8". What is the best way to attach it? I am thinking that maybe using contact cement like putting formica on might be the best.

How have others done this?

That is how I would do it.

I have used Liquid Nails and my pin nailer.

I'd do the contact cement.

+1 contact cement. I save the old blades out of mini-blinds to stand the panel off the secondary surface (both have cement), pull the center ones first to make contact and work my way out.

Are these cabinets made with solid wood or are they plywood? Either could be problematic if you put plywood on only one side. You are risking warping because of the unbalanced construction.

I have done this several times always with weldwood contact cement.
