Here is my first Ash bowl I was cut from a crotch it's 8" x 2 1/2" soaked in alky and no finish just Beall Buffed
I orderd the New Wave sanding kit a Great sug from my good ol buddy Kevin G:D
WOW  the diff using a power sander from hand sanding (no comparison) I cut my sanding time WAY down from hours to 30 min! And this is the best looking finish that I have achieved so far.

Jim, How are you chucking the bowl to finish the bottom off so nicely? Tell me where I can read more about this New Wave sanding. TIA, Steve

Ooops! forgot to add that I like your bowl, very nice indeed!

Thanks for the nice comments Steve
To finish the bottom I use my homemade mini jumbo jaws
and I got my sanding stuff from Packard woodworks I would give you the add but it's a violation of SMC just add the www. and the .com on it;)

Jim,
That is a nice bowl. The form is awesome and you don't see too much ash with that figure in it. Nice bowl.

Whoa, Jim, that is one spectacular piece of wood and the finish is flawless from my perspective. :) Nice bowl and a terrific finish! :) You would never know that bowl was an alky... :p :D

Great looking bowl, nice form. Oh by the way, the Jumbo Jaws look great as good or better than mine -- I bought mine from Rockler.
