Been on here quite a while and aside for the odd comment, haven't added much else.

After seeing others shops, thought I'd show mine. Hope it works...

Put the heat in this winter - what a great thing! I'm on my 3rd 100# tank - Not too bad for the benefit of being warm. Has made a total difference for usable shop time!

Very nice. Especially like the flip stand for the planer. If I could suggest....if you paint the OSB walls, the shop will seem larger and brighter.

Have thought about this, but I would say it's a bit down on the want to do list! Should have done it before I started making dust and shavings...

Thanks for sharing, Keith.. I saw the snow and blue tarp outside in one picture and figured you must live here in Anchorage. :D

Can you show how that planer flip stand works? It's doesn't look like the standard center pivot with another tool for counter balance. also, looks like the other side of the stand does something too?

Andrew,

There is no pivot point. It is hinged on the back top edge. To use, I remove the top, (it comes completely off) and then grab the top corner of the planer (closest to the floor?!?!) and lift. It swings all the way up and two side catches lock under the base of planner holding it in a level position.

In the 3rd picture from the bottom you can see most of this, just not the hinges on the top back edge.

I posted some pictures of it someplace here I think - I'll have to have a look.

Stay tuned....

very clever keith! Guessing the open side of the box that allows the tool to swing through doesn't have an issue with rigidity?
And, do you find that you have to clean off that table top every time you want to use the sander?

It was all, what do I say! Lap joints? All glued and screwed. Seems pretty solid.

And, do you find that you have to clean off that table top every time you want to use the sander? Well, yes. After all it is a flat surface! Best part is that I now have more flat surfaces to put stuff on, so no one surface has to take it all!! :D
