Acrylic and acrylester with aluminum inlays...

I made my own inserts.

Those are beautiful! Well done on theses, I havnt turned any of these yet, I have a couple of turkey pots I need to try and get to here pretty soon, those will be my first.

Those sure have the WoW factor. I love the silver rings, they do a great job of accent your calls and the form on these are great.

Rex, very well done!! Unique features with the multiple colors and aluminum - love the last one, really classy looking. The ducks probably don't care, but the hunters sure do!!

How do you avoid getting bubbles in the acrylic when you drill it? I have a friend that is experimenting with acrylic and drilling it takes way more time than turning it.

John are you referring to blowouts? I learned when turning pens with polyester resins that you drill a little at a time while dripping in some water periodically to keep heat to a minimum and then you don't drill all the way through. You stop short then cut off the end to expose the hole. Least thats what I do.
