Last evening was our monthly Lehigh Valley Woodturners meeting. Our group is lucky to have Bill Grumbine as a member and he was our "Guest Demonstrator". Bill took a record size group through the process of making a winged bowl. If any of you have heard Bill do a demo, you know he combines solid instruction with his own particular brand of Turning Humor. Most all of it is funny but has a particular point that teaches something about turning or safety. Bill held the groups attention for 2 hours but the lathe probably ran a third of that. The rest was pure entertainment. Bill is at home behind a lathe and in front of a crowd. He has fun with the audience and everyone leaves with additional knowledge and a light heart. Here's the "Big Guy" in his pulpit.

Sounds like a good meeting. I really like his style and would like to see him in person. You are lucky to have him in your club.

Bill is a treat, no doubt about that. He will be demonstating at my club in April which will be fun for sure.

I have enjoyed his DVD and can only imagine what he is like in person.
