I was asked to do one of these civil war pens just like the one I had made for my son at Christmas... but with a logo. I thought I'd have to send off the pen to have it lasered. I've never been able to do the decaling work on anything but Maple.

But this Cherry burl (which came from the cherry burl my son gave me for Christmas) had a spot on it after turning I thought I could put his logo. wow, it worked. almost looks like the logo always belonged there.

I like it. The decal worked well. This is a pretty cool looking kit as well.

Very nice wood Jon. That kit has never been my favorite, but your work sure moves it up on the list!

Thanks everyone.

Jim, not a fav of mine either. I first did one for my son who is a Civil War, WWI, WWII buff. Posted pictures of it and now I'm getting some orders. It's not the best looking pen, but it has nice balance, and if you like heft in your writing instrument... this works.

Nice work, but that is one ugly looking kit.
