I don't use my big lathe a lot, would it hurt it in any way to be unplugged when not in use.
I only use it maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks and its the only thing in the shop that doesn't
go off when I close the shop.( had to wire it differently ) So was thinking of unplugging it
when not in use but didn't know if it could hurt any of the electronics plugging and unplugging.

Harry - I unplug mine each and every time I am finished using it - which is every day! Won't hurt a thing and you don't have to worry about power failures or lightening strikes!

Harry......Like Steve I unplug my PM3520B every time I'm finished for the day.

I most definitely unplug my lathe, because I worry about power failures, common in my area, it’s safer.

I just switch the breaker off since my lathe is right next to the breaker box. No worries about lightning.
