Maybe that's why so many rosewood totes are broken.

I'm way to clumsy for that method. I need something wide and flat.

Hmmm... To me, storage implies not only organizing but also protection. I see more chance for damage with this solution than in many others. I think this will turn into a temporary solution for you.
