A little plane gloat

This is one of the cleaner planes I've found in a junk shop. We don't have lots of reasonably priced planes show up around here but I've done pretty well at a particular local shop. This plane looks to have been barely used and I won't need to do anything more than some light rust removal with Evapo-Rust and a Scotch Brite pad.

The cap is interesting in that it's a two piece articulated arrangement.

a later millers falls 14. they are good planes. It should work nicely.

The cap is interesting in that it's a two piece articulated arrangement.

The idea on that is it would press on the chip breaker and blade assembly in three places instead of two. In theory, it should reduce chatter.

Makes sense, at least in theory.

BTW I did post regarding removing plastic chisel handles - it was actually very easy.
