Here's a block plane I picked up just because I've not seen a lateral adjuster attached to the blade before. No makers marks that I can find. Maybe when it's cleaned up some.

I think thats a Sargent Block Plane..
Looks unused shame its rusty..
Is is a low angle or high?

I agree with Johnny - looks like a Sargent, and the name should be on the top of the blade.

Plus 3 on it being a Sarget (or at least a Sargent iron). I have a Sargent with the same iron.

All righty then.

Evapo Rust and elbow grease have revealed Sargent 307 on the blade. It's cleaning up better than I expected with ~90% japanning on the body and 75% on the cap. I am starting to like this plane and I'm hoping it will be a good user. I haven't used this type depth adjuster much so I'll have to see how about that.

Overall construction is very good with nice castings and tight tolerances. Iron is bedded at the standard angle.

I have to say that Sargent and Millers Falls made some really nice planes with some very interesting variations on the Stanley Bailey designs. I have several and I'm glad they aren't as collected as the Stanleys.
