Has anyone laser engraved photos on aluma mark sheets , I have a good friend whos wife passed and his children want her photo on aluma mark sheet,

Alumamark is a sensitive material and while it produces some stunning pieces it can also be problematic. Slow speed and low power work best.

I like a laser sublimated photo on brushed aluminum better.

I'm with Mike, Alumark is very touchy. Dye sub, Laser Blak (JDS) CLTT, Anodized aluminum, or even Cermark.

There are a few choices out there.

If you do a photo, it works best if you use about 150 dpi, and etch directly from the grayscale. Do not run through photograv, or convert to a 2 bit image. The gold plate is more forgiving than the silver. Silver has a VERY narrrow heat/power range.. Run small parts of the photo on scrap pieces until you get the setting right for your machine. They are ALL different particularly with Alumamark
