Hi All,

New to the forum and woodworking. I've been doing a lot of reading here and this is a really nice site.

I'm starting to assemble the tools needed for a proper workshop and there is a Woodtek 6" jointer (model 801-589) for sale on my local craigslist. However, it does not have a fence. Does anyone know where to get a replacement fence for this jointer?

Wooddtek is sold by Woodworker's supply. http://woodworker.com/search.asp?CTLFIND=120.006&OLDINDEX=C2011012651973753698&JUMPTO=41&SHOWCOUNT=20&RESTRICTCATEGORY=on&TOTALPRESCOUNT=50&LC=&CATVALUE= (http://woodworker.com/search.asp?CTLFIND=120.006&OLDINDEX=C2011012651973753698&JUMPTO=41&SHOWCOUNT=20&RESTRICTCATEGORY=on&TOTALPRESCOUNT=50&LC=&CATVALUE)=
I don't see that jointer listed. You can call them up and see if they can get parts. It is probably a generic jointer and you can probably find parts from Jet/Delta/Grizzly that will fit.

Unless Woodworker's Supply can assure you the fence is available (at a reasonable price you care to pay) pass on that jointer and look for one that is complete. Jointers with no fence are of no value in the shop. The jointer will be a "boat anchor", taking up valuable space and contributing nothing.

I've sent an email off to Woodworker's Supply to see if they have replacement fences available. I agree it isn't worth it without being able to get a proper fence. Thanks for the info. I'll update the thread when I hear back.

The problem with this is do you need the fence assembly or just the fence casting. Assuming it is available and if you need more than just the casting I am willing to guarantee the deal will be shot. Just for reference the casting alone for the smallest floor standing Grizzly jointer is a little or $130 shipped.
