Just got an email regarding a clearance on these. I'm not familiar with them at all, but it looks like it might be a quick and dirty way to pound out a bunch of drawers for the shop, which is a project soon to be at the top of my list. Anyone have any experience with these or similar slides that you don't build a complete drawer box for? Suitable for drawers holding heavy power/other tools and other shop stuff?

Edit: here's a link to the slides - http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=30185&utm_source=NL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=V1942

Maybe this belongs in the Deals forum, however my point in posting was primarily to get opinions on not having a full drawer box for drawers that can be expected to hold shop equipment. If mods think it belongs elsewher no problem. thanks.

they go together very quickly but consider purchasing some of the blum drilling jigs to make your life easier. they're a little pricey but they save you a huge amount of time compared to milling drawer fronts, dadoing for the bottom, assembling them...

wow! i just clicked on the link at that is a HUGE BARGAIN and will work perfectly for building a new bathroom vanity for my house so i think i'll be dropping by the local store tomorrow afternoon. thanks for the head's up!!!

Personally I dont see the savings in using these. My shop drawers are 3/4" plywood sides w/ 1/2" bottoms. Wood on wood for slides. I can pile them full and never had a bottom blow out. Extended 3/4 I can stand on them. Simple old school technology is sometimes the best. IF you want to use tracks I would recommend full extension side mounts. I asked my supplier about them a while back and in the past 10 years he hasn't sold enough of them to even have one on display. They're on clearance for a reason. Good luck w/ your decision.

Sorry to break the news, but this is no deal. Ikea beats these prices everyday.

And you don't need to make anything but the front. They include the metal back and Melamine bottom, if you care to use a stock size.
And yes, they are Blum.

The folks at Rockler should be ashamed of that original price.

For shop drawers, I like Blum 230's. They're only a few bucks, don't have a hundred little plastic parts to break and they don't care about dust.
