I need some ideas for a substrate. I am trying to cut acrylic tubing to a length and have a nice edge on it. This is not a problem. The tubing cuts fine with a rotary. Problem I have ti stopping the beam from hitting the inside opposite of the cut. Any ideas on a non-burning substrate I can put inside the tube to prevent cross burning? Thanks, Wil

Hi Will

I use children's play dough to line the inside of stuff I rotary cut. Also works great to help weigh down objects that are a bit to light and slip on the rotary.

Good idea. I will try it tonight. Thanks. Wil

A piece of steel or aluminum rod will act as a good block, and it rolls with the tubing to keep it weighted. Paint it black if you're worried about reflections.
