I am about to attempt my first segmented pen. But I need to order a nice kit for it. All I have now are slimline kits. I want something bigger that would show off the wood better. What do you guys like with segmented pens? The woods I using (in order around the blank) are maple, bocote, maple again, and cocobolo. I am leaning toward a 2-tone cigar, gold & chrome. If anyone has any better suggestions, let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

Cigars or El Grande's will definitely show off the wood. Another one I like is the Sierra or the Wall Street II.

I like the cigar pen, and it's the most popular pen that I've sold. The guardian kit from PSI is pretty big, and it'll show off the wood nicely as well.

BTW, I grew up in Jonesboro not too far from where you are.

Really any of the larger kits work well. Alot depends on your goal. I have done Sierras, Cigars and the Jr's.

I've only done them with the Cigar kits but would imagine that any kit with at least the 10mm barrel would do.

David, I work in Jonesboro.

I ordered a cigar kit and a junior gent kit. I will pick which one I like best when they come in. Thanks for the help guys. I will post some pics when I get the pen done.

Mesa is a nice, large single barrel pen to try. +1 on Cig's and Jr's. Link to Mesa
