This piece is ash, 3" tall and 6 1/2" wide. Lots of coats of blue dye. I was going to put liming wax on it, but decided I like it the way it is.
Again, thoughts please -

Picture quality dropped a bit, but very nice form, soft lines and good finish. Keep it up!

WOW #3..yer on a roll here, girl! We're going to grandfather you into the southwestern art form club. Love the form and finish - don't know if it's the abundance of dye or the photo, but I dont see as much of the grain as I would like. Just my .o2.
Keep em coming!

ps - ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it was the camera! Much clearer grain def..... thx for reupping. Thats my favorite form and blue is my favorite color. Got to love that one the best! ;)

Cathy, I like the form! Pic quality is lacking, but it appears to be very well done. I doubt the dye has obscured the grain - probably just the lack of focus. You owe us some more pics!!!

You nailed this one, too! I have an affinity for this form, and you've done a great job with it. I like the color too. More pics of these pieces would be great.

Another great form and I do like all the color!

If you are like the rest of us - turning is something we can work on but photography seems like a never ending challenge! Like turning - it comes with time!

Looking forward to seeing #4!

Wow! Three in one night. You are a machine! :D I really like the blue and I can definitely see the grain better. Well done.

I'd like to see a nice black finial on this one, though.

Ha! Three in three weeks! I have another one this color that's in process that might be looking for a finial.

Truly, you are on a roll, Your Honor! It looks like you and that dye process have made friends with one another. I really like number 2. because of the lid and finial, but all three pieces you have posted are truly fine work.

Those are some very nice pieces. Wish I could make something like that. Maybe one of these days.

Very nice Cathy. Can you tell me what dye you used. Did you buff this after dying?

Transtint blue. Probably 5 or 6 coats to get it to this color. Haven't buffed it yet.

I think the dye looks good. I am not much for dyes, so I'm wishy-washy on that front. I do tho think it looks good on ash. Ash can be hard to make look super good. (sorta like turning red oak...) So for making ash look better than it should you get 2 thumbs up!
