I needed a dozen Cedar 2x6's this morning so I went to the sawmill. The biggest log is 22 inchs across. I have this thing about Bigggggg Cedar.

Great haul. Don't think I have ever seen a red cedar even half that size.

The sawmill has one that's about 32 inchs on the small end. My wallet knew better than asking about it. Logs this size are getting hard to find. In the first pic----that's a 80 gallon air tank sitting behind the last log.

I just love red cedar. We are able to find some occasionally 14"-26", and they just drop it off in my yard when they do. Often times the trunk is quite variegated, making for some strange bark inclusions, or even unsafe or useless blanks. But I take what I can get.

That's cool. I think you better go back for some more 2 x6's and get that 32" one.

It's too bad they made you haul that whole truck load home.:D

It looks like a really good haul!

By the way, don't you have any snow?

So you went to get 2 x 6's and got this. I wonder what happens when you go for milk. Great haul Gary we'll be waiting to see them after the lathe work.

I need to get a couple other projects cleared out of the way first but I will post a few pics of the first thing I turn from one of these blanks. Plus I am wanting to go back and look at a few more 2x6's--:D
