I am cutting and engraving mirrored acrylic. Do I need to mask it? Should I engrave on the back side or front or is this just personal preference. http://www.sawmillcreek.org/images/icons/icon5.png

If you engrave from the front you will get a reflection of the engraved image. Your choice.

Do I need to mask it if I engrave the back?

I would recommend cut through the back. You may also want to stand the mirrored acrylic off of the vector table to reduce flashback onto the piece. Etching the back also gives you the opportunity to engrave the back with text/art also.

Do a search for LOTS of advice and opinions abut engraving mirrors. I like to do it from the back, and then I usually paint the back with black paint.
