My wife has been wanting an island so asked for one for Xmas. But because 2 of our kids, & 2 granddaughters wanted Grampa made stuff, hers was the last to tackle. A few pics I have taken so far.

We decided to leave off the fold down table top wings, because of the Corian top she wants. I think I will saw apart the drawer box and have miter-ed corners. Project will get stained dark walnut , semi gloss lacquer.

That looks great. How are you attching the cabinet box to the legs?

Three #8 x2& 1/2" wood screws per leg. One at the top, 2 in bottom of cupboard. I think I am going to use hanger bolts to hold the top on. That way it can come off to reduce weight for moving. Starting to get heavy!

spent most of the day test cutting to make rabbetted half blind dovetails. The new Vac jig for the Leigh sucks :cool:, which is good
I cut the drawer box apart, replacing the ends to eliminate the face frame end grain. A design change left that end grain showing, didn't like it.:(
