Back Saws, Backs folded or slotted? Why?

Inquiring minds would like to know. Which is better folded or slotted backs. I'm in the beginning stages of building two Wenzloff tenon saws. I ordered slotted backs, but the slot doesn't look quite centered on one and I'm thinking about changing to folded. I just completed two Grammercy carcase saws with folded backs and they were pretty easy to do, but my Adria with a slotted back did look more refined. Or am I just being nit-picky?
